About

We are a Chemistry Biotechnology Company commited to serving the resident's of Connecticut.

Our Company

Red Mercury Inc., a subsidiary of the Electrolytic Marine Salts Company, is a Chemistry Biotechnology Company based in Branford, Connecticut that is focused on chemical analysis of a variety of biological and environmental samples. Our company was founded by the Dr. Dipak Das and initially focused on his pioneering work on the compound, resveratrol.

After several years, due to a fortuitous partnership with the technical wizard Charles Redheffer and a large donation from the Trixolan Foundation, Red Mercury’s focus widened to include more projects focused on the environment.

Mission

Red Mercury is dedicated to using current, up-to-date advanced analytical equipment/techniques to provides a complete solution to our client’s testing needs. We are committed to serving the residents of Connecticut and donate 25% of all profits from CT customers to the local (CT) Multiple Sclerosis (MS) charities to help fund MS research.

Research

Our results typically get published in publications such as the Journal for Geoclimatic Studies, The Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, and the Journal of the American Medical Association.

The beginnings of Red Mercury, Inc (RM, Inc) started with working on the compound Trixoclan. The compound Trixolan, based on Viroxan, is a citronella-based compound that was originally used as a therapeutic to treat the AIDS epidemic in the early 1990’s. Although that application did not work out as well as one might hope, this was the inauspicious beginnings of the company researching in the Biochemistry in novel compounds.

After working through several novel promising antibiotics, Red Mercury Inc. was purchased by the Electrolytic Marine Salts Company (EMSC) which was more-focused on analytical applications. (EMSC had some initial successes designing gold extraction machines for gathering gold samples from sea water.). This caused a slight shift in the general focus of RM, Inc from offering services exclusively in the areas of biotechnology/biochemistry arena to a renewed focus on developing/offering more analytical services.

Research Divisions

Biochemistry

Dr. Das is still in leading the biochemistry research arm of RM, Inc despite a shift of the research focus (from Natural Product / Drug Discovery Synthesis of compounds to working on developing novel antibiotics) of this division. This shift was necessitated by the widespread demand for and the proclivity of mutations (yielding antibiotic resistant bacterium) found in a large number of disease-causing bacteria. RM, Inc. is now currently developing multiple novel antibiotics to meet the desperate need in the medical community for novel antibiotic compounds.

Analytical

The newest research division is led by the co-directors, Charles Redheffer and Elizabeth Holmes. The analytical research division’s primary focus is developing novel, repeatable analytical methods to study locally sourced environmental samples. The current primary research projects are focused on developing certifiable methods so we can provide repeatable, accurate results for our clients.
